Convened by community members, this working group develops resources and strategies to support the development, approval, and implementation of K12 open education policy.
On June 25, 2021, we released the OER Policy & Advocacy Statement for public dissemination. This statement is intended to offer guidance for districts on using federal dollars from the American Rescue Plan Act to use Open Educational Resources (OER) to advance their goals.
Districts and states are invited to consider how the recommendations included apply to their own contexts as they work to fulfill their goals for recovery and change, and for equity and access to high quality education for all learners.
June 2021: Collected and integrated feedback to finalize Policy Statement for public release.
Upcoming: Review initiatives from states to see how OER can be embedded in other state initiatives, and share with subsequent states as a model.
